Understanding the Differences Between Google’s Pagerank and Google’s Pagerank Toolbar.

According to Wikipedia Pagerank is a link analysis algorithm that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of  a hyperlined set of documents, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E).

In laymen terms, Page Rank is the "weight" google gives to specific pages within web site.  The higher the pagerank, the more weight the specific page has. The highest page rank google may award is 10. (the scale is from 0 to 10)

Page rank calculated on a daily basis, however, Google only updates the pagerank data for public view (and displayed on their pagerank toolbars) about four times year.
